The Advantage

The Advantage is a dynamic student-driven organization designed to help students make the most of their college experience. Our mission is to empower each member and encourage them to attain a high level of academic, personal and professional success at Michigan State University and beyond.

The Advantage was founded in 2005 by Eric Thomas. It was Eric's vision to see students who traditionally graduate at a lower rate than the University's average, equal and surpass the graduation rate of their counterparts. With just two people at the first session it was unclear whether the Advantage would take off as anticipated, but with the help of DeAndre Carter and a host of soon to be named STARs, The Advantage has grown into one of the most influential student led organizations on MSU's campus.
