The Financial Aid Process can be confusing, we are here to help!
You will complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for each year that you will be enrolled in college. Most students will need tax information from their parent or guardian to complete the process.
*The starting point for all students is the FAFSA Website: https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Beginning October 1, 2016, families will use prior year tax information to complete to forms.
- The 2016-2017 FAFSA required 2015 Tax Data
- The 2017-2018 FAFSA will also require 2015 Tax Data
- The 2018-2019 FAFSA will require 2016 Tax Data
The MSU Office of Financial Aid will begin preparing 2017-2018 packages in December 2016, and the priority deadline for all Michigan institutions remains March 1, 2017. Early completion is an advantage to you so complete your FAFSA online today!
